Why choose a sailboat in Lisbon?
Sailing is the most authentic way to see Lisbon. With the engine off and the sails up, you glide past the 25 de Abril Bridge, the Monument to the Discoveries and Belém Tower, and see the city from the river the way sailors have for centuries.
A private sailboat is ideal for couples, proposals, small families and groups of friends. Most sailboats in our fleet take up to 10 or 12 guests; for larger groups, the tall ship Príncipe Perfeito hosts events for up to 200.
What to expect on board
Your skipper handles the boat, chooses the route with the wind and is happy to let you take the helm. Most sailboats have cushions on deck, shade, a toilet and cabins below. On longer trips there is often time for a swim stop.
The Tagus is calm and sheltered, which makes sailing comfortable even for first-timers. Sunset trips are the most popular – book early in high season.
Do I need sailing experience?
No. A professional skipper sails the boat. You can relax or help with the sails if you want to.
How many people fit on a sailboat?
Most sailboats take 8 to 12 guests. Príncipe Perfeito, a tall ship, takes up to 200.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes, families are welcome. Life jackets are on board and the skipper adapts the trip to your group.
